Review on Manscaped Crop Essentials: Male Care Hygiene Bundle with πŸ§” Invigorating Body Wash, Moisturizing Ball Deodorant, Body Toner, and Shaving Mats by Heather Brown

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The musky, overpowering aroma kills an otherwise excellent product

I really wanted this product to please me and it's definitely good at what it does. But I downgraded the rating to two stars for various reasons. First, let me quickly tell you what's great: the products work very well. The body wash moisturizes and doesn't dry out the skin like most cheaper body washes do. Crop Preserver (groin moisturizer/antiperspirant) works REALLY well and removes sweat and moisture almost completely. The spray is surprisingly effective. I tried it without expecting much from it, but my goodness, it really gave my step a boost. It kind of cooled my trash and seemed to increase the effectiveness of the crop protection product. Here's why I only gave this set two stars: 1. The smell is terrible. This is particularly sad for Crop Preserver. For a product that aims to keep moisture out to keep your trash fresh and musky-free, they definitely chose a musky scent for it. Why don't they make it odorless? It is confusing. The scent is so strong and long-lasting that people have asked me if I wear perfume (which I haven't worn in about ten years). I use about a quarter spoonful of material (barely enough to cover my boys). I have to wash my hands twice with deodorant kitchen soap to get the smell off my fingers. He hangs *all day*. It's good for moisture protection, but not great if you don't feel like walking around smelling like cheap '80s cologne that your grandpa might have worn. The body soap is nothing special. It's definitely more moisturizing than cheaper body washes, but it's no better than a body wash like Dove, and Dove's price is a fraction of the price. Manscaped Shower Gel has the same musky scent as the preservative. Thankfully, it dissipates fairly quickly (like most soaps and shower fragrances). Good product but not worth the money when there is a cheaper alternative that is just as effective.3. The care mat is a waste of paper and an attempt to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I groom myself in the shower/bath like every other guy I've ever spoken to who also does manscapes. (I think it was more of a gimmick than a real product with value.) 4. Astronomical price. Compared to similar products with roughly the same reviews, these products (especially when bought individually) are sooooo overpriced. Make them odorless and I would consider buying back to avoid wasting money trying other products. But it looks like I could buy two competitors' products (for Crop Preserver) for the same price that Manscape charges for their products. Even if the Manscaped turns out to be the best horse in the race, I won't buy him again. until they release an odorless version.
