Review on πŸ’§ Junction Waterproof Line M20 Underground Electrical: Unbeatable Resilience for Wet Conditions by William Auditore

Good inexpensive outdoor junction box with lots of accessories included

I do a lot of seasonal decorating and outdoor lighting so I stumbled upon an inexpensive, efficient, waterproof junction box. my life list I have a size of 130 x 70 x 41mm which is big enough to connect a few wires together but not big enough to fit anything else in the box. The dimensions given in the listing are overall external dimensions including end to end cable glands. Actual usable interior space measures approximately 72 L x 48 x 35 x 35 inches, which is much smaller than a single junction box in the US. I wish there was a larger version. It should be noted that no conduit can be inserted into this box and should not be considered for a constant line voltage installation. The kit also includes a range of accessories. Most surprisingly, the box contained cable gland inserts for terminating larger wires, as well as fasteners, a double-ended flathead/Phillips screwdriver, a 3-way terminal block, and a gasket and hardware to close the box. The flat end of the screwdriver is too big for the included terminal block, so you'll need a small flathead screwdriver to use this part. I would like blanking grommets (or lids) for the cable entries to be included so the box is waterproof without installing two cables. It can also be used as a project box. It is not intended for use with this product, so it does not affect my rating. The Box-i receiver, assembled with two cables, was waterproof. The cable glands themselves are molded into the box to keep it dry. As mentioned, you need two cables going to this box to make it waterproof. I'm sure I'll find many uses for them in the garden and I'll probably order a few more.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
