I got mine in February and the blade assembly just started making an awful noise in May that's 3 months. They replaced the top of the unit for free and then said IT SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY 6 MONTHS! It costs $48 plus shipping twice a year. Below is the "care" guide that was sent to me when I called about the problem. Never leave the device running for more than one minute! Eventually, overloading the container can weaken the integrity of the blade assembly component, which can lead to damage and malfunction. Make sure the blade assembly is screwed tightly into the jar. If the blade assembly is not securely fastened to the jar, contents may enter the drive base cavity. A leak in the drive base cavity can cause the switches to become sticky and over time this will make the motor difficult if not impossible to push and drive. Wait for the motor to come to a complete stop (3 seconds) before lifting the blade assembly and pod from the power base. Use ONLY room temperature, cold, cold or frozen ingredients - never mix warm or hot contents in NutriBullet. Never mix aerated ingredients or liquids (including baking powder, batter and/or vinegar). We recommend replacing the blade assembly and jars every six months or as needed for optimal performance. Before each use, always check that the blade unit seal is fully seated in the recess of the housing.
