Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Black Oil Drain Plug by Stens 125-508 by Joseph Redding

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Part OK, location of mower makes installation difficult

I have a 2007 Craftsman tractor, 54" mower deck and old drain plug. I'm probably blaming the wrong person/company, but the install here was a mistake. The drain plug sits almost on top of the frame where it goes into the block, and no tool I had would have given me access to the 15/16" nut" to tighten that part. I ended up going to one local hardware store and bought a 3" x 3/8" zinc plated nipple and coupler. Reassembly made it easier and now the drain plug is out of the frame which also makes changing the oil a breeze. Whoever the one designed at sears should get 50 wet noodle lashes.and a direct replacement for the original might be better. Also the metal on the new drain plug is VERY SOFT so be careful not to cut the threads.Overall not bad though the location of the mower turned a 15 minute job into a 2 hour job, including a trip into town.
