I'm not thrilled with this phone system but we've bought enough of these phones that we don't need to invest heavily. There are many models of these phones and you need to be very careful to choose the right one for your needs. For example, this one has NO autoresponder. I am returning it because I need a second answering machine base (model 25425RE1). I find this ridiculous but we need a second block with answering machine because the block doesn't receive messages when the phone is in use. What the hell? What business phone could be so idiotically designed? RCA really provided decent customer service, I was able to speak to a real person. I thought the phone was broken but the employee told me no, that's how the phone works?!?!?!?!? I was told to buy several base stations with answering machines so I could leave messages on any unused phone. Strange, but we'll try. I've also bought a couple of base stations that don't have caller ID. Again, what business phone would NOT have a caller ID? Strange. So I bought cordless phones that connect to bases because the RCA rep told me they would provide caller ID. Not correct. You are not. They are subordinate to the base unit, and if the base is without a CID then the handset. Buyers beware and be careful! If you buy the right models, you can have a decent system at a good price. Otherwise, review your purchases carefully and be prepared to return the item quickly. The speakers on landlines aren't loud enough and the sound quality on cordless phones is terrible. Good in a pinch when I'm not at my desk, but that's about it. We end up getting the job done, but I'm not thrilled and it wasn't cheap or easy.
