What can I say you cut out the letters separately and it takes time but they work quite well. I used them with polymer clay. They are the perfect size for small lettering. I'm sure you can use them on clay, cement, cookies, etc. I made small clay charms and put our initials in the clay to use as wedding candle charms and table favors. These stamps are easy to use and I love them. what the font looks like. They are a good size for use in a variety of crafts and projects.
