Animals love it and it holds up well enough even on a wooden floor. We don't have drawers but we have a big house with rugs and beds in different parts of the house so they have their own places when they are around us. If we don't, they make beds out of stuff we don't need, hair or, in the case of the Lab Pyrenees mix, drool. To clean it, I simply took it out on deck, wet it, put some washing-up liquid in it, washed it in different directions with a hose and threw it over the railing to dry. worked fine Big is too big for a typical home washing machine. Big is great for our 80 lb lab mix.
