I bought a lamp for Ott-Lite which I bought in 2014 and checked the instruction manual to make sure I chose the right lamp. It arrived on the expected day which was the only positive thing about it. The lightbulb looked exactly like the one that had burned out. But when I plugged in the lightbulb, it didn't work. After several email exchanges with the carrier, I sent the bulb back as per their instructions. It took almost two weeks for the funds to be credited back to my card. One of their suggestions was that I take a pair of pliers and cut off portions of the small pieces connected to the light, which seemed unsafe. I then ordered a lightbulb from Home Depot for less than the previous lightbulb, brought it home and it fit perfectly. This is a warning to anyone who has an old Ott-Lite and needs a new lamp. Try Home Depot first.
