I've been asked to rate the thickness which I don't really understand but they are very strong and more durable than the standard guards. I use Wahl magic clips and the shields are very secure. In no case will they pop out or move during use. Also, my hair clippers are set closer than they come out of the box and that didn't affect the guards. on a little silver platter, I think makes them look good. All in all a good buy. Some sort of suitcase would be nice, but for the price I can't complain.
