I have used this as an employee of my employer for several years now at different levels within our organization so far its has been very beneficial. It's not something that is easily seen by others but i use it frequently myself from time to time when looking back over goals or objectives etc. There are no immediate downsides other than you may be perceived negatively if someone else finds out what your doing with it. In general though there really aren't any negative points. Its great tool to make sure everyone knows where they need improvement in their work life as well being able to see how each person measures up compared against one another can give some insight into who needs attention more often than those whom should get less frequent feedback.
