Unusable, broke on first use

We got this for our 2 and a half year old son so it has not been used for diving or anything aggressive. However, it broke slightly on first use. The rod inside that connects the gate to the suction cup is completely broken off so it cannot be attached by simply inserting the suction cups into the rim.
