Review on Watch Strap Black Replacement Suunto by Eric Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The hardest part was installing the shutter.

You must replace both parts of the strap if the buckle does not match the holes. The hardest part was installing the shutter. You have to hold it at a 90° angle to be able to screw it onto the watch, otherwise it won't work. The watch strap is not soft compared to the original Suunto strap that Ambit3 came with; however, it is much thicker. Hopefully its added stiffness will indicate the belt is less likely to break. Maybe it will soften with wear? The original tape lasted 2-3 years. The time will show. The screwdriver fits well on the screws. You will need to stretch the ends of the strap to fit the holes. I read a review somewhere (maybe another strap manufacturer) that it doesn't quite fit. I noticed the original strap as I unscrewed every detail. The original Suunto strap didn't quite fit either. I'm not sure if it's actually silicone, but silicone comes in different hardnesses depending on the amount and type of fillers used. This could explain its rigidity.
