I have had many ceramic heaters over the years. The problem with most of them is that they just can't heat a room well because they rely on forcing air through a heating element and blowing it around the room. The problem is that hot air dissipates faster than radiant heat. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I lit this heater. It has a very large heating element that can be seen at the top of the device. It is very quiet but generates a lot of heat. I wasn't sure if I would like the shape and design of this device, but it works really well. I use it in a roughly 350 square foot room and it keeps it nice and warm. This is the only heater I've used that I actually had to turn off! It has some very basic controls on the side, and while I love that it has an auto shutoff, it really doesn't have many temperature settings. It goes from 65, 70, 75, 80. Nothing in between. This also means that it will keep working if it doesn't reach the desired temperature. Nowadays I would think that a digital switch and temperature setting would be a nice feature. Bottom line is the price and quality of this heater, I would definitely recommend it! I've added some photos to show the controls and a size comparison photo next to the tissue box.
