This hanging media box solves my big problem of not having enough floor space for a standing unit. It was quick to assemble, had all the details and looks great on the wall. Unlike other floorstanding units, it has a "bezel" - a bezel on the front of the unit - which makes it look more like a finished cabinet and helps make it more durable and stable. While this looks very nice and makes it very durable, the downside is that the frames hide an item on each side of each shelf. In my configuration I have 12 shelves including the bottom one. So 24 items - 12 CDs and 12 DVDs for me - would be tucked out of bounds where you can't see the title, and you'd have to temporarily remove neighboring items to get the latest ones. So I'm going to end up putting blank DVD and CD boxes in all of these endpoints because I want to be able to see all of my titles without having to move things around. It wastes some space (about 8% of the total shelf space) and is my only issue with the design. But it still holds a lot of stuff, which is a big help. Also note that it is designed to only save CDs in the most efficient way. Whether you have a combination of DVDs and CDs or just DVDs, there is unused space at the top. The mounting system is a horizontal plate that you screw into wall studs and has a full-length edge that connects to a similar plate on the unit. I found it really easy to hang and align and feels very sturdy which is important when there are so many things on it. The manufacturer Prepac always delivers devices directly from the factory, so no matter who you order from, simply choose the cheapest price. Fast Shipping: I ordered on a Tuesday and received the following Monday! Attention: The box is very heavy and can be carried by 2 people. But it was well packaged so it wasn't damaged in transit. I have never found such a good storage unit in a local store so online shopping totally wins here. Upgrade is the second little thing to watch out for: this block has a noticeable chipboard smell even after 3 weeks so far away on the wall in an open space. I have mine in a spare room so it's not a big deal but if you're thinking of putting it in a bedroom where someone is sleeping you might want to reconsider - I'm going to have problems, especially with that smell to sleep with the door closed and the smell takes a lot longer to dissipate than I expected.
