Review on Sun Bum Hypoallergenic Sunscreen: Ultimate Sun Protection for Sensitive Skin by Renee Sweet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not for fair or dry skin

My skin:- Combination skin (oily T-zone, dry cheeks)- Sensitive- Rosacea and acne-prone- Cooler/fairer complexion Benefits of sunscreen:- Mattifying- Odorless- No whitening on my skin tone. Cons of this sunscreen: - Too dry for everyday use - Too orange for my skin tone. At first it seemed like a great everyday sunscreen, but the more I wore it, the more issues I had with it. It has a thick mousse texture and a matte finish thanks to silicones. For this reason, if you are starting a treatment with tretinoin (or another retinoid/retinol) or just have dry patches, I would not recommend this product. This sunscreen sticks to those dry patches, leaving a blotchy texture. It also makes my face look very flat - no dimension, no glow, all the same color. I imagine this product would be good if you have normal oily skin or for a hot day outside as it is waterproof and keeps you from getting greasy. For me (someone who has combination skin and spends most of my time indoors) it's too dry for everyday use. I would describe the undertone of this sunscreen as neutral, but to me it's a bit orange. I have naturally cool undertones and am very fair. Not noticeable in one light, very noticeable in another. I'm leaving this sunscreen on for now because I haven't found a better option and I see it comes in handy in some situations.
