RUN! How is it a bestseller? I calibrated with an already calibrated hygrometer. This item's moisture rating was 14% lower. The temperature only seems to differ by 2% so this might work for you but definitely don't buy if you need humidity readings.

I have bought thousands of items from Revain and this purchase was defective. Unfortunately, I didn't set it up until a few months later. The humidity sensor does not work at all. The temperature display is garbled. I hope that those who are thinking about buying this product will read my review and buy another one. I have a Vicks monitor and it works beautifully and is much more attractive.

The attached images are standard salt tests used to check/calibrate hygrometers. I spent 12 hours on the salt test (google it if you don't know - it's a test where you put salt water and a hygrometer in a ziplock bag). And both show 64 and 60. If you are familiar with the salt test, you will find that a properly working, calibrated hygrometer reads 75% after 12 hours. Those numbers don't even come close, and for some reason this device shows less moisture when it's on its stand.

Update: These [I have 5] seem relatively accurate at the current temperature and humidity. However, the readings for high/low temperatures are completely unreliable. I suspect this could also be true for high/low humidity, but I don't monitor humidity as closely as temperature, so I can't be sure.
