I got this because I needed to know the temperature gauge in the kids room. However, he showed 79l. I took it to a room that was literally as cold as ice and the temp gauge actually went up. I took it out in the sun to see what it would read at 95F and it stayed at around 80. I'm disappointed because I really needed this product and it doesn't give me a realistic reading. In all cases I waited at least 15-20 minutes to make sure I wasn't in a hurry. Press and hold button for 15 seconds" So if I want to use the light to find the light icon on the display, why do I need a backlight at all?
