I used this to install a baby gate on our brand new, unscratched (for now) railing in our new house. The instructions were easy to follow and the product looks great. Although I haven't done it yet, the fact that the plank of wood that comes with it is raw wood makes it easier for me to paint it to match the railing. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was that to avoid scratching the railing you need to use wooden blocks that also rest against the railing. I would like overlays to be enabled for the blocks as well. This feature was important enough to me that I bought my own pads to add to the setup: SoftTouch Self-Stick Grip Pads with Non-Slip Surface - (6 pack), 1 x 4 inch stripe - Black. If these or something similar were included, this would be the perfect product.
