Update 6mos later: I tried again with raw chicken. Same thing.sucked out the juices, making a mess, and didn't seal. I ended up using seal only and put it in a freezer bag for extra protection. I'll use it for dry or frozen only and will be buying a different product to seal wet foods.Did really well with beef jerky and already frozen fish and meat that I wanted to break-up into smaller portions. Not so good for chopped onions and peppers. It kept sucking the juices into the unit, making a bloody mess everywhere. I ended up just sealing and not using the vacuum function.I really wanted to like this. But will now only use it for dry foods until it dies, which from what I'm reading in other reviews, won't be long.
