First it needs to be installed in an outlet (that is, the panel is removed and an outlet is used as the outlet for this surge protector). The included screw to fix the surge protector is included and you need a long-distance screwdriver to install it. Once installed (which was super quick, my 11 year old installed one for her room herself) you can easily figure out which sockets can be folded down to accommodate different sized plugs. USB ports work fine, no problems. All in all, a great surge protector that takes the hassle out of tangled wires on the floor. Very happy with this purchase and the ease of use!
