I wore this skirt to a Training Conference last week for and African themed awards banquet. The colors were black and gold. This skirt pretty much had those colors. It was really nice and I expect to wear it again. I got the medium and it fit really nicely. I can't recall if a small would have done better because of the elastic. However, I tend to err on the side of caution because of my height, and my size, as there are different cuts to every style. I expect to wear this skirt again. I need to have a few more African prints that I'd like to wear more frequently. New York is just that place were a trend becomes a norm. So wearing African pieces is normal everyday attire. You don't have to wear an entire suit- a head wrap, maybe a harem pants, a purse. One may incorporate those items into any individual style. In any case, I did like this skirt. It served the purpose and the skirt looked very vibrant in color and pattern. It's what I expected as in the advertised picture.
