Durable and well made. Very good guide.

This product is quite durable and all steel parts. For me, the TV needed to be inserted between the wall studs, so a bracket that could attach to the studs on either side of center was essential. This model was about half the price of a similar product at my local big store. Installing a TV on a fully articulated arm is a tricky project when you need to position the TV accurately, so many of the issues listed below will occur no matter what product you buy (measuring vertically, holding a heavy arm trying to screw to attract). ). , correct left/right arm placement, etc.) I thought the instructions and packaging were excellent. All parts have been individually boxed and labeled (A, B, C, etc.) for easy navigation to the instructions. The instructions were clear and there was an online video showing you the installation process. It also came with a "drilling jig" that had a nifty "tray" at the bottom to collect all the drilling dust. Since I was installing the TV in a cabinet, I really had to make sure the TV was vertical where I wanted it. So my only wish in the guide is a little more information on how wide the bracket needs to be to get the top of the TV in the right place. I ended up doing a lot of measurements and fractions to make sure I drilled the holes in the right place. This would take the instructions and packaging from a solid 5 to a 5+. But rest assured: the vertical brackets connecting the TV to the swing arm have plenty of holes and can accommodate a bit if the rails are a bit higher or lower - as long as they don't protrude past the top. TV or below (which would just be a pain in the eyes). The bracket is quite heavy as it should be to keep the TV off the wall. (I think the mount actually weighs more than my 49" LED TV). I was working alone so I figured it would be very difficult (if not impossible) to hold the bracket to the wall and screw in the screws. So since I mounted it myself on the wall above the fireplace I decided to disassemble it to first install the rails and then install the articulating arm into the rails. The template got me in the right spot and all I had to do was adjust it with a spirit level while tightening the screws on the wall. My only real problem was loosening the screws that hold the "articulated arm" in the left-to-right bracket rails. .Here's the reason for the lost star in the review: My largest Phillips screwdriver, the head wasn't big enough and I ripped off the heads trying to unscrew them. I even tried to grab them with pliers, what didn't work doesn't work either. ) The Wr tool is oversized, 2) the fact that they were insanely tight (I mean, why do they have to be so tight?), and that 3) I think the steel in the bolts themselves was a bit soft. I actually took it to my local family hardware store for help. After some lube, the right size screwdriver, some tapping, and some grumbling, the guy took them off (it probably took 10 minutes total when we started). Once I loosened the screws, everything went fairly easily, although I noticed that the articulated arm isn't mounted centrally, so the TV is centered (look at where the plate is on the wall, not where the articulated arm is attached). to rails). I didn't realize it until I hung the TV and it wasn't centered on the articulating arm. I realized how important the security screw is when the TV is in place because if it slips off this plate the TV will end up on the floor. A small "edge" on either end of the swing arm mount would prevent this if the locking screw was not tightened. It could be a product improvement. Overall I am very satisfied after completing the installation.
