Review on πŸŽ’ Maximum Comfort and Storage: Kelty Catalyst 46 Liter Backpack by Sarah Cox

What to do with the kitchen sink?

I've been using the LL Bean Medium Bigelow Day Pack for a few years now, about 2200 cubic inches. This is my bag that we can take with us when camping, camping, amusement park, etc. It has a rigid insert that adapts to the shape of the back pocket and is comfortable to wear for a long time. It has plenty of storage, straps, a waterproof case and is even compatible with hydration packs. If something didn't fit, it was tied or clamped. I love this bag, it has withstood a lot of abuse and still looks brand new. With that in mind, I ventured into new territory by checking out this Kelty bag. I had never tried this brand but I knew it was a huge hit. As I dived I knew this bag would be bigger. It's nearly 700 cubic inches larger at 2930 cubic inches. What's great is that it weighs almost the same - around 4 pounds. Let's see how it goes. The Kelty backpack looks amazing. It's a nice light color that looks clean despite having so many straps and pockets. Like the LL Bean backpack, this backpack has many pockets, pockets, and carry straps. It has a hood that also serves as a storage space. The lower hip belts have large pockets and the side mesh pockets are incredibly large and can hold very large water bottles or other items. It's amazing how much you can fit in this bag. However, it doesn't look that big. It fits a full set of camping gear and leaves room for your favorite snacks on the trail. It takes a little practice to find the right size. The frame offers a contour that works well, but only after you've properly secured the pack to your back. Once you find the right fit, you'll be comfortable no matter what you put in your bag. And the padding is nice and thick so the pack and frame don't stick out on the trail. I will say that a nice feature of the LL Bean backpack is that you can remove the hard panel and use it as a more flexible backpack. When you take the frame off the Kelty it becomes a bit pliable and doesn't have the full back padding that gives it a little frameless structure. Not a big deal, but it's always nice to have a more flexible yet comfortable bag in some situations. All in all, this bag is great. Comparing it to the LL Bean that I've treasured for so long, I have to say I appreciate some of the attributes of each. LL Bean features higher quality materials, zippers and padding, all zippers have flaps or caps to keep water out, and many pockets are easily accessible even with a bag. comes with a raincoat. The Kelty, on the other hand, offers more space for the same weight, has an aluminum frame rather than a hard plastic body, has a hood flap for great water protection and extra storage, is very comfortable when fitted correctly, has a lap belt compartment that's easy to reach and slip into phones and other accessories fit, it seems to be more water resistant (although I wouldn't call it waterproof and it doesn't come with a rain cover) and it just looks great. The Kelty Catalyst 46 is all about storage and comfort. It checks the boxes for both. What I do is that it had a few more segmented pockets in the large compartment so you can organize things in the bag. I also want the side zipper (which actually leads into the bag) to be closed with a lid or bottom zipper, as sometimes it doesn't close fully and can allow moisture to seep into the main compartment of the pack. . I just noticed that the zipper closes all the way. I would also like it to come with a rain cover as given the cost of this package there is no reason it wouldn't come with it. I think they tried to make this catalyst more waterproof, but cases are always a good guarantee. other hikes due to its size. But I know this Keltie will be a welcome addition to the trail. I'm definitely curious how it will be received. Luckily Kelty has a great guarantee even if something goes wrong!
