At first I thought this would be a great addition to my aquarium. However, after about a week there was a kind of white film on the wood, it wasn't soaked at all, and I had to weigh it down with stones. I did a bit of research and found that I should just let it run its course and the fungus or whatever will go away. Well I waited about two weeks and it started turning black so I took it out and started peeling and cleaning it. I put it back in and two days later the fungus is back and it's very ugly. I also read that this film is common with new pieces and will fade over time and be harmful to fish, well unfortunately one of my fish got stuck in the fungus and died. and after about two months of just watching the black fungus thrive I finally decided to take the wood out and look for another centerpiece for my aquarium. I'm really upset because it's beautiful, but it just didn't work for me.
