We bought these to use as lunch plates and they are ideal to hold a sandwich and a piece of fruit or chips. They are also nice for a salad. You can microwave a burrito on them, too, as long as you don't heat something with a "crisper sleeve" which can cause a hot spot that can damage the plate (according to the directions). So far they have washed clean in the dishwasher without any stains. The colors are pretty. They are very lightweight. They haven't cracked or chipped. We're very happy with the purchase.
