My Aussie is easily aroused by other dogs on our walks and can be very noisy. I trained him on a leash at our house for a day or two before taking him outside and on our first 3 walks he still tried multiple times to throw off the leash on each walk after trying to latch on to something to fall and realized he could. t. Gradually he began to understand that every lunge meant discomfort, and this almost completely reduced his desire and arousal. We're still working on getting used to it, but if he's really trying to pull it off, he can't. It's safe and well done! He is a full sized Aussie with a smaller build and the little one fits perfectly. I'm really glad he's doing it so well because it makes walking both dogs (the other one only freaks out when he does it, so she doesn't even react now!) a lot easier.
