Review on Dometic A&E Awning Assist Handle by Scott Mcgowan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

How do I remove the old operator from the rack?

I always like a product that works straight away. The original operator broke, leaving a spring-loaded pen with a handle dangling freely in my hand. Choose something larger than the diameter of the replacement rivet and drill out the old rivets. All you have to do is drill out the head of the rivet and loosen the handle assembly. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot between the two sections of the post, rest the screwdriver against the rivet barrel, and tap the screwdriver until the rest of the rivet falls out. We knock out the second rivet in the same way. Position the replacement handle so that the rectangular portion on the back of the assembly fits into the matching slot on the rack. Make sure the rivet holes in the drive line up with the holes in the rack. If this is not the case hold the driver in place in the post and using the driver hole as a guide, use the drill selected for the previous operation and open up the offset hole in the post leaving the rivet in place is. Install the rivet and repeat the process for the other hole if necessary. Good quality product and appearance. Rivets were provided in two sizes (lengths) and I used the shorter size.
