Review on E12D 12 Inch Carpeted Subwoofer Enclosure by Daniel Jenkins

OK box for a small system

I'd like to start by saying that maybe you need a small sealed box that fits in a limited space and you don't want to assemble it yourself like this one box . I read many reviews about it and decided to give it a try. The lining of the rug is very thin and tears easily and even has a small tear at the bottom. The material used is not of the quality I used when I ran my own car audio business a few years ago making custom subwoofer enclosures for people. The sealant used was not evenly distributed and did not have the necessary seams. I had to properly seal the box myself to ensure it was airtight. I then had to add extra spacers to ensure it didn't flex as much as the rest of the box is not 1 inch thick MDF like the front speaker circuit board. After I strengthened the box, the interior cubic feet got smaller, so I had to add about a pound of polyethylene on each side to make up the loss. Once done and installed it seems to sound good. Considering what I had to do to make the box strong I would be better off building it myself but then again I am very picky when it comes to building boxes as there are many factors that a can ruin the box. system sound. If you're looking for a whelping box with the sole intention of satisfying the subwoofer's lack of sound, then you can't beat it on price. If you are looking for a box that can handle competition or hard hitting, I would suggest looking at another box. Now, after several months of use with two 12" subwoofers at just over 700 watts, a total of about 350 RMS per sub from my precision power amp, it's still holding up after proper mounting and resealing. Use your own judgment on how you intend to use the box to determine if it meets your needs.
