I was very happy with the overall quality of this holder but the bottom compartments are too small for thinner pens such as pens for brushes, pencils, pens, etc. When you insert a pen, brush, etc. etc ., its underside is not aligned with the compartment opening directly below, and you need to spend extra time to find the right place. Because of this, your hands, etc., cannot easily stand up straight. To me, that really detracts from the usefulness of the holder. It would be better if each hole was a solid tube. I regret buying two. If you're using this for large markings, it might not be such a problem.
