After contacting Insta Pure because I couldn't purchase an older version of the filter, they informed me that all of their filters had been updated to higher specs. They said the F2 was the old F5 and the new F5 was better than the old F7 and didn't know why the marketers decided to keep the lower numeric model number. I can say they have been updated! The old ones started losing chlorine and cloudy water after about 50-75 gallons, but that doesn't happen until towards the end of their 200-gallon lifespan. The biggest plus is the filtration speed. 6x faster than my old F7 filter and almost as clean.
