I ordered raw organic cotton to make a new/replacement pillow for my small dog's bed. After 5 years of washing, the old roller in my washing machine fell apart. The original was filled with polyethylene and I wanted to make it with more natural materials. I made a muslin roll (I bought a muslin roll here at Revain) and then bought 2 pounds of organic raw cotton to stuff it. I have attached a photo of the inside of the raw cotton bag I received (when filling). I didn't clean it, and as a cleaning freak I didn't feel the need to clean it either because it was just plant matter. I used up all 2 pounds. because I wanted it to be as hard as poly. I've also added pictures so you can see what a roller is and maybe get help on how much you need for a specific project you might be working on. The bright white and crumbling roller in the 2nd photo is filled with poly. The ivory pillow closest to the dog in the 2nd photo is filled with new muslin and raw cotton. Stuffing the muslin with cotton was very easy because I ripped it open and then stuffed it to the size of a snowball. This weakened some of the plant material, making it very large. I think it turned out better than the original and of course Bing loves his bed and jumped in as soon as it was done (3rd photo). is a new padding made of muslin and raw cotton.
