I'm serious about shooting with a big digital SLR and all lenses. I wanted a small camera for personal use when I didn't want to be lugging around all the other gear. This camera fully meets all requirements. Sure, there are tradeoffs in low-light performance and the ability to control every aspect of photography, but that's not what this camera is for anyway. Save some money and get this instead of buying the latest camera with the most megapixels. It doesn't matter what you're using this camera for anyway, and it can actually affect low-light performance (more pixels in the same chip size usually means more image noise). Personal favorite features - Very light and sleek design - Nice LCD screen - Improved user interface - Decent low-light performance - Optical stabilization (sometimes helps - but remember that it only helps to keep the camera steady, not increasing the shutter speed , to catch a moving object in low light conditions - for example, my daughter is always on the move) - good quality video. Wishlist- Ability to turn flash on and off in auto mode. This is perhaps my only complaint. I use it in auto mode most of the time, but you can't get it to use flash for lighting or stop motion unless you switch to manual mode. After that I always have to scroll back for the woman :-) - best standard video compression. This is a common problem for this camera segment. The video takes up a lot of space and may need to be converted/compressed before posting to a blog/etc. is sent/uploaded. .
