I'm new to hanging so I have a very small point of reference, but I cannot think of anything bad to say about this hammock! I loved them so much I just ordered another as a gift. I only gave it 3 stars for the "light weight" category, but because the only thing I could compare it to was my scout tent. It is noticeably heavier than the tent, which will probably make a bit of a difference on longer hikes. However, that is the end of my "criticisms", if that's what you want to call it.The weight is from the quality of the materials, and really it is mostly the tree straps. I had thought they would be low quality and bought a $20 set in anticipation of that. The set it came with were of obviously better quality! You could see where the straps were on the tree, but I would consider it very minimal bark damage. They held my 280# frame up firmly and securely. I never felt like I would fall or anything would break. The hammock material itself felt very durable, but also thin enough to cool my backside even though it was 95+ outside. (An underquilt will be a definite must for cold camping.)I like this hammock so much I am very seriously considering hanging it in my room and getting rid of my bed. I honestly can't imagine where those $100-200+ hammocks could provide enough of a difference to justify the price. Maybe these don't last as long as your higher end brands.? I'll update the review with how many nights this lasts. I'll be using it often.I would definitely recommend first timers checking these out. Especially before spending $200, or more.
