After switching to a new MacBook Pro with USB-C ports, I needed a USB-C to Micro-B cable for two portable hard drives from Western Digital. I've read a lot of cable reviews and many have reported problems with the USB-C side and said the cables don't fit securely. For less than $10 for 2 cables (one for office, one for home) I jumped at the chance to buy them. First impressions were that the cables were of good quality. I plugged one end into the HD, and when I plugged it into the MacBook's USB-C port, the connector engaged with a distinct click. Good secure connection. The drive appeared on my desktop and the files were quickly transferred. I shook the cable several times and had no trouble disconnecting or disconnecting from the hard drive. The one foot length is great for desktop or travel use (I don't need the drive to be 3-6 feet away).
