This is great for keeping my MacBook safe in the corner of my desk. The stand has rubber pads on the bottom/inside to prevent scratches and is heavy enough to stay on the table when you take out your laptop. Please note that if you have a MacBook like mine, the only safe way to use the computer in clamshell/docking mode is with the top (trackpad) facing down. Any other direction will block either the rear exhaust or the side vents. I wish the aluminum finish was a little better; it doesn't quite match the quality of the computer. But then again, that's a third of the price of high-end vertical stands, so I can live with that.
