Bought this remote to take selfies with my A7riii. I was tired of connecting my phone to the camera via bluetooth, then connecting and then changing the camera settings to make it work with the phone etc. This remote connected instantly with no issues just by going through the remote settings in the Camera activated. . The remote itself is just cheap plastic. It doesn't look like it will take much abuse or be too weather resistant. It has an instant focus and record button (main button) and a 2 second timer. A 5 second timer would probably be a bit more versatile. The only reason I'm giving these 2 stores for versatility is because it's not universal in how you can use it. This ONLY triggers shots through the inforot, meaning you have to click "in front" of the camera, not sideways or behind. It's in the nature of things where the infrared sensor is located but can get in the way, I don't think it's very versatile.
