It was a bit heavier than I expected but it's lighter than some other raincoats. it can be hot in the summer, but it's perfect for spring/fall rains or SoCal winters. Basically, I wanted a long jacket that would also keep my butt from drying out. I've also used it to run 5K. While overly effective as a rain cover, it also retains heat, leaving me quite steamy during the torrential downpour during the race. and yes, I was still dry except for the sweat from running.
