I used a regular video tripod for a while but it was impossible to shoot straight down and my videos didn't look very professional as a result. I did some research and found this tripod that shoots straight down with a counterbalance and decided to give it a try. The tripod came without a case, but I found it to be a very good tripod. I actually found it quite heavy, but I find it heavy because of the good quality. You can raise it to a considerable height and either fire a straight shot or take a straight shot down by extending the top stock and using the lever to swing it out of the way. A bag containing a travel clamp is included as a counterweight to the tripod. I found using a 1 liter water bottle was the perfect weight balance for my smartphone (I use a smartphone mount instead of a camera). I really feel that adding a straight shot makes my video look a lot more professional and gave me enough room to work instead of trying not to hit my old tripod while trying to shoot. I would give 5 stars if it had a tripod bag.
