I painted the shelves white to match the decor of the room I installed them in; it worked well. I didn't like the look of the rack that was attached to the bottom so I just didn't put it on. For technical reasons, to assemble it requires a person with small fingers to reach places where the screws can be tightened. In addition, about 5 screws were "repainted" with a recess for dried paint, where an Allen key was used. Had to use paint thinner and cotton swabs to clean it up as the wrench wouldn't tighten. That means he's very strong. For people who have considered the wheels sticking, I suspect they overtightened them to the point where the bushings and bearings became pinched. No problem, as long as you keep that in mind and only screw it in when it no longer works. Excellent product, despite the production confusion.
