My kitty has kidney problems. I bought several products to help her get better and more comfortable. This product instructs to put it on the paw. You can't put anything on my kitty's paw, she'll throw it off, she won't sniff or taste it. But if you put it on her nose, she will eat it. The top prevents it from being easily sprayed onto noses, while the flip-top cap won't distract the kitten or interfere with the process. Yes, I could squeeze some into a spoon and have her lick it, but it's a lot easier when you can just squeeze it out. My cat spent a lot of time under the bed when sick. When she got out of love and affection - then I could control everything. So if you run to the kitchen for spoons, you'll find a jar of them under the bed. I've never looked into it enough to really give a real assessment of its effectiveness. All I can say is she seemed to love the taste and the packaging is terrible. Hope that helps.
