I have a young child who eats three or four napkins at every meal and is becoming too wasteful. The cloth napkins I could find in stores were too big to use and store every day, so I bought some washcloths for them. It worked so well I wanted to find something we could use as a family but again ran into the problem that all the cloth napkins were huge. I immediately fell in love with this list due to its smaller size, and was impressed as soon as I took it out of the box. The material these wipes are made of is beautifully soft yet has just enough texture to wipe effectively. Quite the opposite of what I've always felt with overly slick, non-absorbent linen towels that never seem to help. There is no "right" or "wrong" side as the stitching around the edges and the fabric itself look the same on both sides. It feels like there's a third layer inside, which I think should help with absorbency, but the fabric itself is still easy to work with and doesn't feel stiff. They appear to be well made and I expect they will last us a long time. They were great for our family dinner and I think my kid loves that we all use the same thing now. I was curious to see how well the light grays would wash off, as I was a bit worried that after a while they would look pretty unsightly. I've included a before and after shot of two sides of the napkin, which I pretreated and then tossed in a warm wash and tumble dried on low. We had a meal of butter curry and it cleaned up very well. There are a few spots where some of the oil hasn't quite risen, but it's barely noticeable. We all definitely buy them in this house. I'm glad I found a reusable alternative that works for both adults and children.
