First impressions are solid metal. Very well built and made to last. Reminds me of MagLight flashlights. Requires six AA batteries (I bought a bigger flashlight), you need to pay attention to the installation of the batteries. The power button is at the end, again very strong. It also comes with a wrist strap. How you hold it will determine how well it picks up stains, so play around with the angles and you'll find many more stains. I've found that if you hold the light loosely to the side and tilt it towards the ground it shows more. The further the better in my experience. The direct beam shows less. I thought my house was clean. I couldn't wait for it to come along and prove it to myself. Yes. nope :) Damp rag, disinfectant spray, the black light and a final cleaning with OdorMute and my house smells like my house again. I will do this weekly around the house. Keep things in great shape. It's nice to see that quality items still exist and this is one of them. Invest in it. It's worth it. Highly recommended.
