So far, so good. I have 2 large dogs that mostly need a visual barrier. The husky first tried to push him away and he moved until I moved the gate. For those with large dogs, make sure the gate is larger than the space you need to cordon off. For example, I only needed a 72 inch gate to close the site, but luckily I went with these. The end sections of the gate abut the wall. As a result, the gate can be very strong and the dog cannot open it easily. There are two latches on the gate instead of one: one at the top and one at the bottom. I don't know there would have been 2 when I bought it but it works better so dogs don't press on the bottom of the gate and potentially break it. The color of the espresso is beautiful and the gate itself is still quite strong.
