Tried this shirt in several temperatures without another shirt underneath. On a day in my mid-50s (Fahrenheit) I was too cold on my morning walk. Another day it was in the mid to 70s and I was comfortable in the shaded portions of my walk but very warm in the bright sun. Today was in my mid-60s and I felt very comfortable in both the shade and the sun. I think with an extra layer you'll be fine on cooler days, but if the temp is above 79 plan on sweating in the sunshine. I haven't noticed any discomfort when the hood is pulled down and not fully buttoned up as mentioned in some other reviews. There are pockets on the front which can be useful for light items, but my phone was too heavy and was dangling in my pocket so I had to hold it in my hand.
