We are a horse rescue service and last December our farrier asked us to take on a Welsh/mini gelding who had been out grazing with adult horses and had been beaten by them and had some of his teeth knocked out. We learned it used to be used as a riding pony at fairs and carnivals so we figured our young grandkids would love to ride it. He liked it and so did she, although we only started with me leading her bareback. The horse seems to prefer children to adults, although we have become good friends over the past few months as he has learned to trust me. However, when we tried it with a standard bridle, the reaction was nothing short of wild. Pains? Bad memories? That's why we bought Dually. It works like magic not only as a training halter but also as a bitless bridle. He is super thoughtful and built and we have a very happy horse enjoying his "human time" with him. The DVD was also very good and had some good tips, especially for beginners I think. We did not have a horse for the children to ride as we are the 'last stop' for those who have been abused, have cancer, have serious injuries etc. It is great to have a pony for the grandchildren (ages 3- 7)) . ) now, and it's funny to see how much he likes it. I love this mess.
