I bought these shoes because a lot of my climbing friends wear them and say they have a very sticky sole. I agree - I wore them on a rock hike last night and they definitely hold up to rocks very well. I'm glad I read the reviews about these shoes small before I bought them. When I buy hiking boots I usually go a half size larger than my actual size so I have more room in the toe box for walking downhill, but I bought these boots a full size larger and they fit pretty well. They are very narrow so may not be suitable for people with wide feet. My only complaint is that the laces are too short. I barely had enough string to tie them. I don't understand why the manufacturer can't supply longer laces. Obviously, most hikers like to tie their laces twice so they don't come undone while hiking.
