I currently have 3 pad mounts and this one has the best performance. I figured I could mount it to the windshield and turn the hinges down so it doesn't obstruct the view. (Police in my area are blocking the view). nope! The windshield is blocked too much. So. I bought a few other mounts and they were fine, but there were flaws. I ended up using this mount with an aluminum plate held to the dash by a thin non-slip rubber sheet and weighted and balanced with a lead shot bag. Works perfectly! I can fold down the tablet in front of the infotainment screen. The main arm was a bit flimsy and wobbly so I placed 2 strips of carbon fiber in the grooves on each side and filled them with epoxy. Now it's very hard. My 10.1" Samsung mat is very secure with very little vibration. You can buy cheap sticky pads rather than make your own. I recommend this mount if you know exactly what you need!
