Detailed Comparison Carhartt Winter Hats Gray

I'm pretty picky about my winter hats, I live in New England and I loathe any part of my ears that feels cold. After a little research, it became clear that Carhartt hats consistently get the highest ratings. However, after that I had trouble distinguishing the following 4 styles: Carhartt Marshfield Men's Wool Hat, Charcoal Heather, One Size. - THIS REVIEW Men's Carhartt Firesteel Hat, Charcoal Heather Gray, One Size I decided to buy all 4, keep the one I liked and donate the rest to charity. This review is specifically to compare these 4 hats in terms of style and warmth. First, a rundown of the 4 and my overall score (1 worst, 5 best): Marshfield: 5 Style / 5 Warmth / Small Fit Fleece: 2 Style / 5 Warmth / Medium Fit Acron: 3 Style / 3 Warmth / Slightly Big Fit - THIS REVIEW Firesteel: 3 Styles / 2 Warmth / Slightly Large Fit For detailed reviews of other styles, see my reviews on these pages. Especially regarding Akron. I found this hat comfortable enough right away, but quickly had concerns about the ear coverage (as with the Firesteel). The ear cups protrude quite far below the underside of the earlobes, but they don't form a tight fit, allowing (cold) air to circulate. For me this is not acceptable in a winter hat, but for some it may be acceptable. The wings are so long that they actually curve downward from the head. Otherwise the hat fits comfortably, I would say the largest of the 4 here. This hat seems to block hearing only minimally (high notes are mostly clear). The inside of the hat is a second lining of very soft faux wool and is frankly exceptionally comfortable. Aside from not having full ear coverage, this hat should be quite warm. Stylistically, this hat is a more youthful beanie hat. Style is obviously the more subjective part of my review and for me this one stood out from the rest with its grey/black pattern. The rolled ear cups weren't to my liking though, but others might like them. Because of its neutrality it should be paired with almost any colored jacket, although I wouldn't pair it with any other gray jacket. charity. My favorite from this group was the Marshfield, which I love, although I also chose the Fleece due to the utility of the retractable face mask and its reasonable price.
