I bought this camera because I liked the touchscreen capabilities. I received it quickly and found it very easy to use. My frustration started about 1 month after receiving it. The camera stopped taking a charge. I asked Nikon customer service for help twice but they didn't reply once but right after I emailed them I started receiving Nikon promotional emails! A friend suggested that I try a new camera battery, although the camera was a month old I thought I'd give it a try. After looking for a new Nikon replacement battery, I found that they cost around $40! I found a cheap one on Revain.com for about $10 and that seemed to fix the problem. So the camera worked fine for a couple of weeks THEN I turned it on and noticed a black screen on either side of the viewfinder. The shutter does not open fully. I could take my finger and open the bottom but the top cover of the clasp won't open. I finally opened it and now it won't close! I unsubscribed from Nikon's email so I called their support and they said they could send it in for repair and it was under warranty. I sent it back today via UPS and it cost me $10. They said the repair would take about 2 weeks so we'll see. So, in summary: yes, the camera is great when it works.
