. When I first got these the color was all muted and the white was a red circle with a blue in the middle. At first I thought they were just cheap bulbs that fit very few installations. But when I unscrewed the bulb, I found that it contained a plastic filter that prevented the light from showing the brightest, truest colors. I can't figure out what they use it for, whether it's for transport and lamp stability along the way, or some sort of filter for the light, whatever it is, it's awful and will make you want to return the lamps immediately. I haven't seen any instructions so I'm not sure if this is common knowledge. But as soon as you remove this filter, the white will turn white again and the colors will be comfortable. These are very bright bulbs, even at max brightness, so I wouldn't use them for applications where you need a lot of light unless you opt for white, which seems acceptable. In general, they are good for accent lighting. I have them in blue on a brick wall and it looks really nice. But in fact this light is not enough to brighten any room if you don't use white. and even then it is limited. That I buy them again? I'm not sure. I love this accent on the brick wall. The problem is that it's not very bright even in the brightest light, so I'm not sure I'd look for anything brighter for the times I wanted it. I put five points on a brick wall and there's just enough light to look cool in the brightest of settings. Let's see. I have another fireball that I aim at another wall and see how it goes. But I also like how they look. This would be great for a kid's room and adds a really nice vibe that keeps their room from being black if they're scared of something like that.
